Dalepak supporting Cobblers Under 18's

STOWE away-days have become part and parcel of training life for Northampton Town’s footballers thanks to the latest helping hand from Dalepak.

United we stand is the motto for both Dalepak and the club, as the Cobblers’ first team squad and their Under 18s side can now work together at Stowe School in nearby Buckinghamshire with Dalepak’s helping hand on the wheel.

Dalepak is now the club’s overall youth sponsor as well as individually backing the 18s, and as part of the package has provided Sean Parrish’s squad of youngsters with the minibus to enable them to travel regularly to the club’s training venue.

Parrish, himself a Northampton Town player, who also performed for Shrewsbury, Doncaster and Chesterfield, explained: “Ian Sampson is keen for the first team and the 18s to train at the same place as it builds a greater sense of club spirit.

“That wouldn’t be possible, were it not for the minibus. It is the first time we have had one and it can be used to travel to Stowe School up to four times a week.

“The support of Dalepak and their chairman Mick White has been truly phenomenal. Our department is self-funding and we rely on this sort of help.”

Parrish added: “It is also useful in presenting a professional image because people see Northampton Town Youth Development’s name written on the minibus and it helps let people know we are around, and giving a chance to the youngsters.

“Michael Jacobs has broken into our first team this season which gives encouragement to all the other young lads.”

After a photograph taken at one of the Dalepak depots on Caswell Road, the cameras moved to Sixfields where White gazed out across the pitch before re-iterating: “A town this size should at least maintain a Championship football team and let’s hope it happens soon. We just try to do what we can to help.

“Dalepak has a strong belief in supporting local sport, young competitors and events. As far as the Cobblers is concerned we have changed our involvement from the Under 13s, 14s and 15s over recent years and are fortunate to be in a position where we can lend our support.”
